I was in charge of interviewing for a while at WNYC. I had a particularly hard problem I would work through with candidates. When I asked it to Adam, he wrapped it all up in about 15 minutes with no help. Then he joined the team, and we experienced similarly immediate results. On the fly image re-sizing just as fast as caching. Done. Cicada detection hardware for a citywide science project discussed on Radiolab. Done. Apparently, after talking with old coworkers of his, Adam is Mr. Hits The Ground Running. He will show up, and build something incredible like it's nothing. That's just what he does. If you get the chance to have him do his thing on your team, you'd be crazy to turn him down.

Adam defined the backend architecture for many of Peloton's
services during his time as tech lead. Adam has great passion
as a developer and operates as a ground-floor leader. Simply
put, Adam loves to code and is not the type to only define
things at a high-level. He provides a lot of feedback during
code review, gets innovative projects off the ground, and does
not compromise until an effective tool is found. I have
learned more about the craft of software engineering from
working with Adam than anyone else in my career. In
particular, Adam and I worked on the real-time leaderboard
product at Peloton together, and Adam's design for a
filesystem datastore are still used at our firm today. Adam
also bridges the gap between applying theoretical CS knowledge
and knowing how those solutions operate on hardware. I have
tremendous respect for Adam and would work with him again.
